Micah wants to name her Darla. He insists that it must be a girl or he will name it nothing. :) Micah is our little six year old cutie boy and when he found out we were expecting a brand spankin’ new little Miller all he said was, “Is it gonna kick me in the back when I sit on your lap and your belly is all big??” The things they say! So yes, we are OFFICIALLY having a new little one and we are super excited! I have to admit that is why I have not been blogging very much. I have been more worn out than Seinfield re-runs. Eight o’clock hits and I am OUT like a light! BUT, the good news is that I am getting out of that stage, the energy is returning and I feel back on track! Thanks for hanging in there with me!

I was not sure when to make the official announcement. At this point I had no choice as my belly is poppin’ out and makin’ me look like I could either be newly prego or just gained the freshman 15! I went to Chipotle yesterday and the lady at the counter had the guts to ask if I was pregnant and I freaked! I had my poofy shirt on! No one if supposed to notice with my poofy shirt on! So I decided it was time!

We will be finding out whether or not it is a boy or a girl in 12 days! I am not one of those people who can wait. I know, I know…. a little self-control….. the surprise at the end is amazing…..but, I just can’t. If it is a girl I need to immediately begin purchasing every adorable little outfit I can find on etsy! And honestly, that takes time! :) I need to keep my priorities straight.

This is a photo they took of him or her a few weeks ago! As soon as I saw the screen it was sucking it’s thumb! Check it out!

I am so excited to finally share the news with the rest of my world! I will be posting the sex of the little one on here when I found out but in the meantime, more fabulous shoots coming!!! :) Happy Thursday everyone!!!!!

Only me…. :)

I sorta can’t believe I’m posting this. But, if you visit here often my ridiculousness should come as a surprise to you!! Those of you who are friends with me on Facebook (and if you are not, look me up, we can be facebook bff’s) may remember me posting an update about falling though a chair at a reception as I sat down to eat dinner. Yeah. THANK GOODNESS Ted and I were in a back storage room trying to slam down food before the next event and not in the main reception when this occurred. I grabbed my plate, sat down, and to my surprise, the cushion on the chair WAS NOT SCREWED ON. How does this happen? It doesn’t. Only in my life and on America’s Funniest Home Videos. As I sat there, butt touching the floor, feet in the air, plate of food still on my lap, begging Ted to help me up, all I hear through his hysterical laugher is, “NO!” Then he proceeded to grab my camera and take photos! Can you believe this guy? After 10 years of marriage no doubt. Geesh. :)

In honor of laughing at yourself and revealing the dork in me, here is the photo. Just for you, to brighten up your Friday!!!! :)

Me, laughing hysterically, sort of in pain, while Ted takes photos. Nice. Thanks babe!!! LOL!!!

I went home for Easter. Back to the log cabin I have often wrote about on this blog. While I was there I went back to visit my grandfathers grave, “Pa”. It was the first time I had made it there since he passed in October. He is buried next to my grandmother, Peg. She passed away at the young age of 47 of breast cancer. She died before I was born so when I heard my mom or Pa or my aunts and uncles talk about her I was all ears. I wanted to hear everything I could because what I heard was pretty cool. My Pa used to tell me about how they first met. He saw her across the room and could not help but to go ask her her name. My mom tells me that she used to make cakes in the shape of different animals for the kids birthdays and that she hated when my moms dresser drawers were messy. :) The reason I tell you all of this is because I really feel that not getting the chance to meet her put a fire in me to document people in their real. Their real smile. Their real laugh. Their real personality. Their real love. I feel like I know her because of the photos other people took of her being real. So every time I am photographing one of our amazing clients, I want to photograph their real so that people can look at the photos and get as close as they can to who they really are. When I think about what single factor has shaped the style of my photography, this would be it.

Meet Peg. Doesn’t she look like so much fun?!?!

I also know the love that she shared with my Pa because someone took the time to photograph their real love.

So to all the photog’s out there, I encourage you to keep it real. What we do is so important to so many and for so many more to come. :) Have a fabulous day everyone! Remember, WE LOVE YOUR COMMENTS!!! :)
