Turner the dog was Halley and Jason’s first baby! Now that Marty is on the scene they always want to make sure he knows he is loved!

Cowden 09_0029

Turner tried to return the favor! :) Love it!

Marty is not walking yet but boy is he on the run! The cement was a little cold so shortly after this photo he was wanting up! Poor guy… he will do anything for a good photo. ;)

It is amazing to me how different every baby is. One ridiculous face or sound will make one baby crack up will make another cringe! :) The best advice I have when preparing your little one for their photo session is to make sure they get plenty of sleep the day before, try to schedule the session on a day when they are not in daycare so you can ensure they are able to rest as much as they need. Also, bring along a favorite snack of theirs that is not too messy! A little bribery never hurt anyone! If you are planning to dress them in an outfit they would not normally wear, let them run around the house in it a couple of times the week of so they are used to it and you do not find out the day of the shoot that they are unwilling to wear it due to comfort. A lot of parents will call to ask what they should dress them in. Of course this is always subject to each famlies individuality so there is really no set rule. I just suggest bringing along fun accessories such asĀ  a hat, scarf, shoes, a costume or even a favorite toy! A prefect example is the darling little hat Marty has on! I would have totally put that on Micah when he was his age! So cute!

I hope everyone had an amazing Christmas! We had such a relaxing holiday! I will be posting photos of our day! I will not be posting any of me on Christmas morning…. look out! :) Between the ridiculous pajamas, bad hair and no make-up… I would not do that to you!!!

Taking photos of Olivia makes me want to have a little girl, yesterday. :) She is the SWEETEST little thing with the sweetest disposition. I had a ball with her on this shoot! I remember her coming in to be photographed by us as a tiny little roly-poly baby! It is so cool to watch kids grow up through the lens of my camera. It makes me feel super honored when parents bring their kids to us over and over to document their lives and extreme cuteness! So, thank you!!!

See, isn’t she a doll? :)

Our little love turns 5…

So, this post is LONG overdue! Our adorable little boy Micah turned 5…. IN MAY! So I am a few months late but, better late than never huh? Micah is a total goof-ball, just like his mom and dad. He is full of life and energy. His sweet little face lights up our world. It has been five years of total love, total happiness, total chaos with a dash of insanity and I would never change it for anything. :) When I was pregnant with him I wondered what he would look like and what his little personality would be like. This is almost the exact picture I had in my head when I pictured the child that would come from Ted and me!

m13

I actually just did his 5 year old photos! I waited to do them until we were out in Denver… his homeland! It was really cool to document this ground-breaking birthday in the city he was born.

m5

But before we get to all of those, I want to share photos of his birthday celebration! A lot of my family came from Illinois and we had a SUPER fun day at Kings Island! It meant so much to us that my family made the trip. My mom was especially excited as she is known to have a love of roller-coasters! Isn’t she so cute?

m10

m12

My two brothers Matt and Josh and my sister Meg came. It was so awesome to have them all here!

m11

Meg is my best friend in the world… my twin born four years before me. :)

m14

Micah was born on my grandfathers birthday. I was SO excited about that considering he was born 9 days before his due date. When I was 4 weeks pregnant I told my grandfather and he said that he would drive me up and down the hills of Colorado on his birthday so I would have him on that day! Micah must have been listening! Isn’t he so adorable!?!

m8

Micah has told me that he will be an artist when he grows up. I thought I would get him started early. :) Although I asked him last night what he wanted to be when he grows up and he said a Kung-Fu man.

m7

Man I love this little face.

m15

Total poser.

m6

I am so glad I caught him with this face on. I see this a lot. This is his, “I wanna be a smarty pants” face.

OMG… it is 2am right now and I so want to go wake him up and squeeze those cheeks while making this post!!!

Happy birthday sweet little boy! Mom and Dad love you bunches and love watching you turn into a little man. Love you!

Happy Friday everyone!!! :)
