Micah is an only child. Because of that, we try to take him back to Illinois as much as possible where all of his cousins are. So, for Halloween we made the trip… and it was so worth it! For the past two years we have met at my brothers house and gone trick-or-treating in his neighborhood. This year, more of my brothers and sisters got involved so it was just a blast!

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory plays in our house at least once a week. Micah just loves it. A few months ago we were riding in the car when I heard a little voice from the back seat ask, “Mom, can we change my name to Willy Wonka?” Even though it was super cute I had to explain that we would not be doing that any time soon! So, when the discussions of what to be for Halloween arose we decided on Willy Wonka. A few weeks later I decided to be Violet from the movie and announced to Ted that I had already told Micah he would be an Oompa Loompa! Knowing Ted I knew that he would be all in! And boy was he! He spent Halloween Eve at Goodwill and then in my parents garage spray painting for a few hours and when he finished he had a seriously funny costume!

I must say that I was concerned that this imago of  Ted would give me nightmares!! He looks so spot on!

Willy Wonka was pretty darn cute! We had to  include our sweet little puppy so we made her into the Golden Ticket! (Doesn’t she look so thrilled about it??)

I was so proud of my mom and dad!! They totally got into it when I surprised them both with costumes! My dad and Micah have a long running war with calling each other a piggy. Don’t ask, I have no idea how it started… so I thought this costume would be perfect! He had so much fun with it!

The trick-or-treat cousin crew! We are missing one! I will have to post a photo of him later! My little nephew Thaddeus was the most adorable blue dinosaur ever!!

Ok, we have to back up a second. Right before everyone got into their costumes we had all the kids dress in 50′s clothes and pose in front of my Dad’s old car! I just had to post a few! They are so cute!

So, I hope this does not give some of you nightmares but I had to post just this last one!! He really got into it!! What a great dad!

We hope that all of you had a as fun a Halloween as we did!!! Now we are trying not to look at the huge bowl of candy in our kitchen in fear that we will eat it all in one night!
