Yesterday I celebrated my 28th birthday. I must say this birthday is the first time I felt older. Doesn’t 28 just sound older? Although I am not a fan of wrinkles, there is something to this getting older thing. I really love where I am right now when it comes to my personal goals in life. Every birthday I have a slight feeling of anxiety over goals not met. At least goals not met yet. This year I took a break from that and just felt really thankful for what I have and where I am. It is nice to concentrate on being in the moment. I have the best husband and the cutest little kid and the most fabulous job. What else can you ask for?

Ted is the best at birthdays. He always makes sure I feel loved and special. For my birthday I got my favorite thing, a camera! Not a fancy shmancy one, just a cute little point and shoot to keep in my purse when I am not able to lug around the big dog camera. It is pretty sweet I must say. A 10.1 mega pixel waterproof point and shoot! I cannot wait to hit the kings island with Micah and take some underwaters shots. Yeah yeah.

Ted made all sorts of fabulous plans for my birthday evening but all was lost when our little one woke up with a temperature of 102.5 degrees. So rather than a fancy night at the Cheescake Factory, we ended up with a fun family night at home around the table with Dewey’s Pizza and ice cream cookie cakes! Even though it is not what we had in mind it ended up being a fabulous night to remember.

I thought I would share a few photos of Ted’s version of a birthday cake! I loved it!

By the way, thanks to everyone for the birthday wishes yesterday!! :)

I made my wish for the coming year in the life of Kortnee….

Happy Tuesday everyone!
