Sarah and Chuck : Tying the knot in Hawaii

There are a lot of times when I am super thankful for the job we have. This is one of them. We had the honor of heading out to Hawaii to photograph the wedding of Chuck and Sarah. Sarah and my sister Meg are both nurses and met while working in the emergency room on the big island. SO, when Chuck and Sarah decided to tie the knot, they gave us a call!

This is my sister Meg helping Sarah get ready! I know I know. Everyone says we look alike. But, if you hung out with us at all the really freaky thing is that we sound exactly alike. Our voices and our laughs are almost exactly the same. My mom and dad still have a hard time telling us apart when we call!

Sarah looked gorgeous as she made her way down to her beach front ceremony with Chuck!

This wedding was so different from any other wedding we have photographed…. and it was so cool! It was SUPER laid back. On the way to the beach we pulled over and my sister, in a dress mind you, climbed a fence and picked some flowers for Sarah to carry! Then, Sarah found a random piece of cardboard and wrote her vows on it. Now that is the way to do it! :) I love this shot of her promises to Chuck, written on cardboard and wrapped up ready to go!

The ceremony was intimate. Only their parents and my sister Meg. I think it was perfect. If I had to do our wedding all over again I would have done it the same way. Except we would have gotten married in a field in Ireland…. with just our immediate families and close friends…..with the sun going down…..yeah. That sounds perfect. :)

Married!!

The ukulele players were a perfect touch!

If you close your eyes and take a deep breath you might be able to feel the breeze coming off the ocean in this photo… :)

The brand new couple and my sis. Isn’t she cute?? She is AVAILABLE and needs a fabulous man. Anyone have any handsome men in need of a fabulous girl? Email me at kortnee@kortnee.com and we’ll play match maker. :) Ok? Ok…..

And then, we were off to the reception dinner!

This place was so cool! We were right next to the ocean and the weather was perfect. I had some amazing tuna that night! Yum! We all had a ball celebrating with the happy couple!!

Chuck and Sarah, thank you for letting us be a part of your gorgeous wedding in Hawaii!!! :)

On a quick side note, I have been taking lots of prego photos to post on the blog but I look RIDICULOUS in every one of them. No no no, I know what you are going to say but I am SERIOUS. I look like I stuck a basketball under my shirt and it looks a little on the silly side. BUT, I am going to post one on here tomorrow along with some other photos to catch you up on the life of the Millers. So much has been going on around here as you can imagine. I have been looking EVERYWHERE for fabulous crib bedding and etsy.com and we have become best friends. She stays up late with me while I look for baby adorableness. :) And believe me, she is full of it. I think I may go broke if I do not lay off that site! :)

Ok, enough of my random rambles…. I will be catching you up soon anyway so if I tell you everything now that would just make tomorrows post rather redundant. And who wants that? Peace out everyone!

Remember, WE LOVE YOUR COMMENTS!!!! (and your match making suggestions for my sister. You think I’m kidding but I’m not. Seriously, call me.) :)

Photographing weddings is a big deal. I know you probably already knew that. The bride and grooms that come to us to photograph their wedding are looking for happy, colorful, emotional images. Cause that is our thing. If Kortnee Kate Photography was listed in the dictionary I would think it would say, “One who loves to deliver bright, happy, emotional images to those who are in love.” :) Yeah, I like that! Since we will never be listed in the dictionary, I will continue to show you through the images we post on this blog of our fabulous couples in love.

Mandy was a perfect bride. She was super happy and excited to be marrying Rob …..and her dress, F-A-B! I am in love with the lace! She had the perfect little dainty bow in the back! Perfect!

Isn’t she gorgeous??

The men were just as dedicated to making sure Rob looked just as fabulous!! :)

Details, details, details!

Annnnnnnnnnnnnnnd, THEIR MARRIED!! :)

Mandy has a quiet elegance about her. She is super classy and incredibly kind. It is so fun to see her light up when Rob is around!

Mandy’s blue eyes are so gorgeous!!

Loooooooove this one. :)

The toasts brought laughter and tears…..

At the reception, each table had it’s own individual adorable cake! I think that is so cool. I know the guests love being able to cut into their desert as soon as they finish dinner!

They had a ball at the reception! I love their faces in this photo! :)

Thank you Mandy and Rob for making us feel super welcome on your wedding day! You made gorgeous photos with amazing happiness in extreme heat. Now THAT is something to brag about you two!!!! :)

Well, since I am a night blogger I will end the post saying goodnight to all of you who dropped by! :) Remember, WE LOVE YOUR COMMENTS!!!! :)

Kyle and Megan: Cincinnati Wedding Photographer

I needed a break. You know when you have the feeling like you just need to regroup….. center yourself……. refocus? Blogging, tweeting, facebooking……. those are are FABULOUS ways to keep in touch and express yourself. But, I feel like there are times in your life when you need to make sure you are still becoming the best person you can be. Does that make sense? I hope so. :) That is why I have been taking a breather from blogging and why the posts have been few and far between. Thank you for hanging in there with me! There have been several people that have said, “WHERE ARE YOU??” So, here I am! And thank you for always coming back to catch up on the fun happening here at Kortnee Kate Photography and in the lives of my crazy little family. :)

Since my last post, Micah started Kindergarten and I am almost six months prego! I know, time is FLYING! I hope to post some photos of all that has been happening with the Miller family as well as a baby bump feature! :) Ok, enough about us….. off to Kyle and Megan’s fabulous wedding!!

There was so much emotion. All day long someone was either laughing, crying, or excited! That makes for such a fun wedding day!! Megan and Kyle are just good people. They are down to earth, super loving, family oriented people. Kyle is a youth pastor and they spend so much of their lives investing into the lives of others. That tells you a lot about the kind of people they are. SO, when it came to focusing on something for them, you could just see the excitement from their family and friends! They rallied around this amazing couple and took care of every last detail. :) And every last detail was a reflection of Megan and Kyle’s style and love.

Megan was overjoyed to finally get into THE DRESS!!!

Every detail was so organic and sweet….

As the girls were getting into their dresses, helping each other with their last minute beauty details, the men were busy doing other things…….

Their first meet was precious. I adore Megan’s face here…. :)

Hey pretty lady!!

Next we were off to take photos before the ceremony. It was SUPER hot with LOTS of overhead sun MID-DAY! But, we were able to get some great shots! When I first started shooting weddings I would have totally freaked out about shooting in the country at high noon. :)

I love when you find random coolness and a nice farmer gives you permission to crash his property in order to photograph it! :)

I love a super energetic wedding party! I also love when a bride chooses bridesmaid dresses that they can wear over and over again. If my memory serves me I believe these dresses were from J Crew! Love it!!

They really do have so much fun together!

Megan’s trip down the aisle was so classic and sweet….

There was a lot of singing during the ceremony and one of the little bridesmaids was not so impressed. No offense to whomever was singing near her. I am sure it was just the volume of the singing…. not the tone. :)

First moments as husband and wife!

When the schedule is more convenient for us to shoot most of the photos mid-day before the wedding, I will request just a few minutes with the bride and groom after the ceremony as that is when the light usually super amazing! SO, we went out for a little fun before heading into the reception!

The reception details were awesome! I love this look…. classic. vintage. perfect.

Oh, and did I mention the SWEEEEEETS????? My pregnantness was loving every minute of it! I am typically a huge sweet tooth but when I am pregnant it kicks into high gear! Needless to say, I had to refrain from eating the entire spread. :)

Fireworks are such a great way to exit your reception!!!

Ted went back to their hotel room with them (under normal circumstances would be creepy, but this was such a fun idea!) and did a photo shoot! This is a first for us but I would love to have had photos of Ted and I like this! I have photos of my grandma and grandpa on their wedding night in their matching pj’s hanging out on their bed together!

Megan and Kyle, your wedding was so much fun! Thank you for including us!!! Congrats!!!

Have a great day everyone! I am off to bed!!! Remember, WE LOVE YOUR COMMENTS!!!! :)
